The Reeves County Road and Bridge Department will employ three (3) temporary intern positions extending from June 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023 (or start of school sessions). Applicants will be required to be 16 years of age and above. The proposed wage would be $12.00/hour, no standard Reeves County benefits with the exception of FICA and Medicare required match.. All three (3) positions will assist in light field operations for our Rehabilitation and Paving program. One may be assigned to clerical assistance. These positions are targeted at students attending high school or graduating from high school and intends to return to school in the Fall 2023 or those currently in college and coming to the Reeves County area to reside between the Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 sessions and that have little to no experience. R&B believes that real hands on experience with what we do as civil servants will guide these folks into the future. Those people may take some real-life experiences with them to help in choosing their calling in life, whether to seek a vocational career or continue on a university trac. 

Requirements:

• Non-Exempt Hourly
  
• Age: 16 years and above
  
• Enrolled in high school or college in the Spring 2023.
  
• Ability to withstand outside summer temperatures that may approach 110 degrees.
  
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  
• Ability to work 40 hour work week, standard 10-hour days M-Th, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  
• Ability to take directives and carry them out.
  
• Must personally provide steel-toed boots. 
  
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and transportation to and from work.
  
• Experience: None
